Templates

With Power Checklists, you can create templates that you can apply to any work item. To create your first template, go to Your apps menu item in Jira, there you can find the Power Checklists app page. On the page, you can start creating your first template. Creating a template works similarly to creating a checklist on a work item.

Applying templates to work items

Now that you have a template, you can use it on a work item. Go to any work item and open the Power Checklists panel. The New Checklist button now has an extra dropdown option to select a template. Click on your template of choice and the checklist will be added to your work item.

Automatically assign templates

When creating a template, you have the option to enable Automatically assign checklist to work items. When enabled, you are able to select for which projects and issue types the template should be applied. Leave the projects and issue types empty to apply to all projects and issue types, otherwise select the project and/or issue type for which the template should be applied. After saving the template, the checklist will be applied to all newly created work items for the selected projects and/or issue types.

Templates that are automatically assigned have a visual indicator with the text AUTO ASSIGN next to the title of the template.
